Twenty-One Years of Support for
Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg

Our contribution to Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg has grown from $4,000 in 1999 to a contribution of $32,000 in 2019 for a total contribution of $888,500 to Hospice over the 21 years of our tournament. All of Hospice's services come at no cost to patients’ families. MCT has worked hard to grow along with the community’s needs and, because Hospice must raise its entire budget each year, MCT plays a major role in the services they are able to provide.

A Morning of Pickleball to Benefit Hospice House

With the tremendous popularity of pickleball, Men's Charity Tennis is branching out and after sponsoring tennis tournaments for 21 years, we have added a pickleball event, sponsored by C&F bank, on Thursday, November 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. The rain date will be Friday, November 8. This inaugural event will be held at Governor's Land’s brand-new pickleball facility.

This will be a fun, social event with round robin play. The event is open to all players (both men and women), of any skill level. We hope that it will give players an opportunity to enjoy some time on the new courts and meet players from other communities in the area.
The entry fee due at the event is $20. Entry fees will be donated to Hospice House, a nonprofit charitable organization, to support their mission of enhancing the quality of living for individuals facing the last phases of life and to support the people they love. Lunch will be provided by Davenport & Company at no additional charge.

To register, please send an email to menscharitypickleball@gmail.com with your name, phone number, skill level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced) and your home club or community.

Tennis Tournament
This year the tournament was on Saturday September 28, at the Kingsmill clay tennis courts with a rain date of Sunday September 29.

Our new format with faster play was a big success. Play started at 9:00 and ended before lunch at 12:30 followed by an awards ceremony and presentation of a check to Hospice.

The plan was to have two groups of players each with 12 two-person teams for a total of 48 players. The stronger players group will be called the 4.0 players but may have some of the best 3.5 players. The second group will be called the 3.5 group. Various prizes will be awarded in each group and a playoff between the two groups will determine the overall tournament winner.

Players support Men's Charity Tennis with their entry fees and contributions.
Players are men 40 and over. See Entry Form, Attendance at the tennis tournament is free for spectators.  Everyone is welcome to the tournament and reception.  Come and enjoy!
